An incredible opportunity exists within Capilano University to provide innovative and thoughtful leadership for all the University’s external relations, communications and advancement initiatives.  You will foster a collaborative team who are clear about their role in supporting the University’s goals and academic priorities.  Your mandate will be to lead the university relations portfolio, including: alumni, government and community relations; fundraising and development; communications and creative services; marketing; and university events and ceremonies. Reporting directly to the President, you will work with the university Board of Governors, Executive, and partner organizations to raise the university’s profile, develop positive relationships, and secure support for university priorities.

 

Job Requirements

You are a gifted relationship builder, communicator and strategist who has demonstrated excellence in building deep, authentic interactions with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders including all levels of government, community groups, alumni and donors.  You are effective at working across all aspects of an organization to ensure a strong service orientation for all faculties and departments and pull people together to focus on common objectives, creating alignment to the mission of Capilano University. You are a senior leader with a track record of leading change in a complex environment to take an organization to the next level. Ideally you have built your experience in post-secondary or an equally multi-faceted, public sector environment.
