Approximately 2 million nonprofit professionals work in over 170,000 charitable and nonprofit organizations in Canada, so when it comes to retaining fundraising staff, no wonder it feels like there's a revolving door. There are so many opportunities out there!  

This AFP Vancouver breakfast workshop will explore the important topic of "Retaining the Next Generation of Fundraisers".  If you find yourself wondering why the average job span of a fundraiser is about a year and a half - and want to know what you can do to change that – then this session is for you! 

We're bringing together a millennial fundraiser, a respected non-profit leader and a seasoned recruiter for a panel session, where they'll share three perspectives on leadership, workplace culture, career growth and other issues that impact the retention of star fundraisers.  

Our panelists include: 

Vicky Chandi – a donor relations professional who's worked with multiple nonprofit organizations over the past 7 years. She's been in her current role at BC Children's Hospital Foundation for over three years and prior to that she worked with two other health-related organizations in a fundraising capacity. Vicky is a passionate go-getter with big career goals – and she's well on her way to achieving them.

Natalie Meixner – an experienced fundraising executive with a comprehensive background in healthcare philanthropy. Natalie has an exceptional reputation for leading high-performing teams to achieve success. As the current President & CEO at Richmond Hospital Foundation, she is passionate about supporting the professional growth and development of her team – and up & coming fundraisers throughout the sector.

Phil Gérard - before founding his consulting & fundraising talent management company, Phil was a fundraiser for over 15 years. His company's mission is to help organizations build a great fundraising team and help fundraisers build a great career – and has been successfully doing just that for the past 6 years.


This education session is worth 2 points towards CFRE accreditation or re-certification.
