One of the biggest challenges for fundraisers is how to source and build relationships with high net worth individuals.  Why?  These high net worth individuals often don’t need to make new contacts, they are suspicious that people want something from them, they are very busy, many people want a piece of their time and they have gatekeepers.  And, yet, it is indeed possible.  Our speaker, Rick Goossen, has done it and is doing it.  Rick will discuss ten “secrets” on how to successfully source and build relationships with high net worth individuals.  This will be a very practical session with specific action steps for people the minute they walk out of the room.

Speaker

Dr. Richard (Rick) J. Goossen is Strategic Counsel & Relationship Manager with Covenant Family Wealth Advisors, where he provides financial and strategic counsel to high net worth entrepreneurs and family business owners throughout Canada.  His focus is on sourcing and building relationships with high net worth individuals.  His clients do up to $4 billion/year in business.  A significant amount of his time is spent with high net worth clients on helping with their philanthropic planning, with estate values ranging from 10s of millions to 100s of millions.

As a volunteer, he has assisted in fundraising at Vancouver College (www.vc.bc.ca), Little Flower Academy (www.lfabc.org), SFU and McGill.  He is Chairman of Entrepreneurial Leaders Organization (www.entrepreneurialleaders.com), a global network of entrepreneurial leaders.  He is Director, Entrepreneurial Leaders Institute, Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford (www.ELIOxford.com).  He has been a director, officer, advisor and shareholder of a number of companies in various businesses. He has authored 6 books, edited 5 books and written over 300 articles and blog posts.
